Writer's Block: I Love My Body Because…

Aug. 14th, 2009 | 10:52 am

Why do you love your body?
I love my body because God gave it to me for a reason.  I've got vocal chords that can actually sing well, arms and legs that will support my dancing, and a mind to learn things quickly.  I know they're all going to work together for my advantage someday.  Not to mention, my fast metabolism doesn't hurt anything ;D

Writer's Block: Memo to Myself

Aug. 14th, 2009 | 10:39 am

If you could travel back in time, what advice would you give to your younger self?
I have a few things to tell younger me:

1.  Be open to all possibilities.
2.  Get some kind of fashion sense.  As cool as puffy sweatpants are, you should really invest in a pair of jeans or something.
3.  He's not worth your efforts.
4.  Don't set up specific standards for guys.  Dating a wider range will help you see what you like and don't like in someone.
5.  Your parents aren't who you thought they were.  Move on.
6.  Braces won't last forever, and you'll look so much better once they're off.
7.  What are with those pants?  They're well past their prime.  Please remove them.
8.  Everything in life is only for now.

Writer's Block: Confidence Booster

Aug. 14th, 2009 | 10:35 am

What do you wear to feel confident?
I wear my green and blue plaid button-down shirt and some comfy jeans.  Make-up wise, I wear blue eyeliner with dots of green liquid eyeliner for a cool tealish look.  It's a very spiffy outfit.

I've Gotta Rearrange the Stars So They're Not As Far From You

Aug. 2nd, 2009 | 09:25 pm
mood: lonelylonely

I just realized something.
The last time I posted on this, I had said yes to John.
Here I am, six or so months later.
We're no longer together.
I never called him John.
I call him Frenchie.
I thought it would just be an experiment.
Wrong.  So wrong.
I loved him.
I still do.
Let's hope he does too,
Otherwise I'd look stupid.

Writer's Block: Lights Out

Aug. 2nd, 2009 | 09:19 pm
mood: lonelylonely

All it takes is a blackout to realize how much we rely on electricity. What's your most memorable story from a power outage?
One time, my sister and I were babysitting our little cousins when the power went out.  We stumbled around the house for a few minutes looking for a candle and matches.  We finally found a candle, the ones in the glass jar with the lid, and a few matches.  My sister lit the candle.  I thought it would be a good idea to put a lid on the candle, so the kids wouldn't burn themselves.  They most certainly weren't after the fire died out from a lack of oxygen.  Woops.

Still Not Fazed

Hey.
So I have a boyfriend now.
Yeah, really.
And I know what boys are.
Thanks for your concern, Corrinne.

Long story short:
His name is John.
He goes to my church.
He's 18,
I don't really care about that
And neither should you.

Okay, just thought you ought to know.

Writer's Block: Church and State

Today in 1893 U.S. President Benjamin Harrison declared full amnesty for Mormon polygamists. Is it the government's place to define which marriages are valid and which are not?
A marriage is a couple's vow to stay together forever in the eyes of God.  That shouldn't be for the government to decide.

Writer's Block: Prohibited

Jan. 3rd, 2009 | 02:46 pm

Today marks the passing of the 21st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which repealed Prohibition. It might seem crazy to us now, but alcohol was illegal in the U.S. for 13 years. What common vice do you think is most likely to be outlawed in the future?
Probably marriage.
Oh no wait, that's not the future.
I know that's not a vice, I'm still mad about it though.

Writer's Block: Under the Same Sign

Jan. 3rd, 2009 | 02:34 pm

Today is chockfull of celebrity birthdays—Brad Pitt, Keith Richards, Christina Aguilera, and more. What celebrities do you share your birthday with? Do you find any similarities between you and those who share your birthday?
I share my birthday with Adolf Hitler, Napoleon the Third, the Columbine shooting (not a person, but famous), Virginia Tech Remberance Day, and Marijuana Day.  I'm pretty positive I don't share anything with any of these people/events.  And don't worry, there's a lot of other bad stuff that happened on this day, too.  According to my friend, I'm the only thing good to happen that day.
